Overachiever here. Gorgeous, crispy Meursault-like Bourgogne, creamy enough to be long and friendly, and sharp enough to keep you interested throughout the whole bottle. I need at least a case of this. Thank you @Zach Baum for the tip. — 10 years ago

A pale ruby color in the glass with thin edges and deep cherry accents. The nose is particularly enchanting with saffron and spices. Particularly clean and focused here, this really does take you away. In time and location. Dried earth and sweet berries. Plenty of floral notes that remind you of the fragrance worn by the lady who first introduced the beauty of Burgundy to you. Nutmeg and jasmine with more forest notes coming after time in the glass.
Still youthful and quite lithe, this is a graceful and complex Pinot. Medium bodied and spectacularly varietally correct. Soft tannins with exquisite structure and balance. Milk chocolate and strawberries grace the tongue along with blackberries and the faintest memory of cinnamon on a lover’s lips. So silky and smooth, the finish is long and generous. A beautiful, romantic wine. One of those that truly lingers. — 5 years ago
And I thought yesterday was a bad day at work ... so let’s go with another nice bottle :). This will take a few years to mature but great depth and enjoyable to drink — 6 years ago
Chateau de Pommard Maranges Premier Cru “Les Loyères” 2013 - Medium ruby in color, this one has a gorgeous nose of soft black raspberry and tea. Very soft tannins make for an extremely elegant drink. It’s as mellow as it gets, from a challenging vintage. Baum says, “To make beautiful wine, you have to like bad weather.” The wine pairs perfectly with tuna carpaccio. — 9 years ago
So creamy and thus a good match for Tikka Masala curry. Butter and vanilla but with a crisp finish. Wonderful. — 9 months ago
Deep and rich flavors. Second glass opened nicely. — 5 years ago
A dark, lusty burgundy color in the glass with a wide brim and cherry red accents. Obviously this can sit for years and years to come but it’s drinking pretty well at the moment. Dried cherries and blackberries on the highly expressive nose with a little vanilla and oak. Beautiful fresh roses, dark plums, and menthol accompany.
Smooth, well integrated tannins and medium acidity. Plump and elegant in stature, this is built to last. Sleek and slender with understated fruit and exquisite balance. California Pinot this is not. Lush and juicy in the mouth. A bit ethereal and supple. Excellent purity of fruit.
On the palate, more of those fresh roses and slight menthol. A touch of muted wild strawberry to go with dried plums. The funk is minimal but significant in its influence. A highly impressive young Burgundy with loads of potential. — 6 years ago
Being that I was around 2 years ago to see Courtney in crutches, this wine was especially funny to me because he got his inspiration from his unfortunate accident while biking. He is also a big Bordeaux wine fan, so this wine is a blend of Merlot, then Cabernet Franc, and a touch of petit verdot all from the Stag's Leap district. Drinks like a Napa version of Larcis Ducas - delicious. — 8 years ago
