Rosso Di Valtellina Chiavennasca 2004

At peak right now. Resolved tannins, sappy fruit & plenty of secondary/truffle notes. Very pretty at 15. Drink up if you own these. — 23 days ago

Sassella Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2005

Either a smidge past its prime or maybe just perhaps not enough air to fully come together. Still very nice with a softer red color, great aromatics, and a nice precise wine with good acid on the finish. Very slightly pruney. — 5 months ago

Ca' Fracia Nebbiolo 2001

A stunning balance of fruit and minerals that falls between Grumello and Valgella vineyards. Lengthy, elegant ripe fruit, with some tobacco to start and liquorish to finish. — 3 years ago

Valgella Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2003

Complex cool vintage. Sour salted plum, dried cherries, medicinal herbs, rose petals and violets on the palate - with a meaty, raspberry finish. An outstanding wine. — 2 months ago

"Il Fondatore" Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2002

Blend of 20% Riservas from Sasella, Grumello, Inferno and Valgela with 20% Sfursat.
Amazingly complex nose full of cherries, lilies, spices, leather, herbs, a whiff of mint. Very youthful and without any evolved aromas. Midweight on the palate with impeccable balance, juicy acidity, a still firm, dusty tannic grip and a finish that goes on and on. Wow! What a wine.
