Bricco Fiasco Barolo Nebbiolo 2006

마쿠 11월. 바롤로 지방에서는 주로 네비올로를 쓴다. (Pinot noir of italy)

Vigneto Punta Barbera d'Alba 1997

constantly underestimated grape - here presented in perfect condition and showing culinary herbs, ridden saddle leather, autumn foliage and some fruital hints.
a quite adorable old lady!
certainly on a range with a. oberto, braida and vietti's barbera treatment skills, highlighted here the ability to age this low in tannin grape...

I like the wine. Just little subtle hints of the black licorice that I just crave in a Barolo. — 21 days ago

Langhe DOC Nebbiolo 2016

As always, a tremendous value. More delightful with food but good on its own. — 9 months ago

Bric dël Fiasc Barolo Nebbiolo 1999

Fascinating to drink next to its Azelia vintage vineyard-mate, the Scavino was shy on the nose even after an hour. Some tar, sour cherry came through, and preceded a deeply powerful core of black tea, loamy dark cherry and Grand Cru Burgundy essence of vinous power. 45 second length, not a hard edge to be found...this may last years but can’t imagine how it will improve. Phenomenal. — a year ago

I’m normally not a big Italian wine enthusiast, but this caught my attention. Neither overly tart or overly light, this showed killer sweet fruit notes of blueberries and candied black cherries with vanilla pipe tobacco and cocoa dusted dates. Tar, rose petal, and a kiss of sweet oak on the palate. Very smooth. I’m sure this will age well. — 3 months ago

Nice, this can likely slumber for another 7-10 with no issue.

This wine is in the perfect position right now to totally kick some ass and take names. And, IMO, that is what it did tonight. This wine had everything from blackberry to blueberry to chocolate to tar, tobacco leaf to wildflowers. Rounded edges everywhere. Served pop and pour. The finish had a little bit of toasted oak astringency but did not seem to interfere with the experience. I really couldn't tell you if this was more the traditional or modern style but would lean more to the traditional. Powerful, yet soft. Very structured. Has another 20 years left IMO. In my running for wine of the night tonight.

Cavallotto

Vigna Scot Dolcetto d'Alba 2012

Smooth, drinkable - would pair well with anything. Had with a wonderful Italian meal.

Ruby wine club notes: The Cavallotto family claims sole ownership of the beautiful Bricco Boschis cru in the Castiglione Falletto district (also home to Azelia), where they have been growing Nebbiolo since 1929 and bottling their own wine since 1948. These richly structured wines place emphasis on elegance and longevity, attributable to excellent vineyards in the Bricco Boschis and Vignolo crus and traditional long maturation periods in large Slovenian-oak casks. After meeting and tasting with Winemaker and owner Alfio Cavallotto, I was incredibly impressed with his wines and thought his Dolcetto was one of the best I had tasted all year. This wine offers the crunchy red fruits for which Dolcetto is known for, with an element of licorice, and sandalwood. This Impressive effort will pair with just about anything, but it is highly fashionable with pasta and grilled meats.
