Le petit jésus en culotte de velours — 7 years ago
A white wine.
I'm getting frustrated with Delectable's insistence that white wines are actually red: it's happened twice this week alone... — 7 years ago
Another excellent value wine! Buy it! — 8 years ago
Full bodied and easy drinking, good from the time you open to over an hour later. Not sure why people are rating in the 8.x's cork broke up with the electric opener so be careful opening. — 9 years ago
Very French label. Crest thing and lots of classy writing fonts. Color is ruby with some deeper hues. Smells like fruits. Ripe berry frutas. Flavors are classic Grenache of Côtes de Rhône. Cherry cordial and herbal tonics. Fresh herbs from a euro province. Smoke. Good smoke. It’s a classy classic. — a year ago

Great one! — 8 years ago
Had another bottle. Stéphane Ogier is one of Côte Rôtie’s most well-respected stars & looks for concentration in the vineyards and freshness in the cellars. "Le Temps est Venu, ‘the time has come’ for an adventure farther south, with old-vine Grenache and limestone slopes. A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that comes from the Plan de Dieu and Visan AOCs. Red fruit aromas and pepper spice notes. Sweet raspberry and cherry flavor adding herbs to the mix. Medium length ending with earthy notes. Nice value! — 8 years ago
One of the few CA Chardonnay I enjoy. You can spend more on one, but for under $40, this works really well.
Arnot-Robert’s rides the fence of CA Chardonnay & White Burgundy nicely. Has a bit of Ca Chardonnay backbone with the creamy body of White Burgundy.
Nose does not show much at first. Green apple, pear, lemon, lime. White peach, caramel notes, cardamom, paraffin, cream, yellow & spring flowers.
The body is creamy with nice viscosity. Green apple, pear, lemon, lime. White peach, caramel notes, cardamom, paraffin, cream, very light honey notes, sea spray, light chalkiness, yellow & spring flowers. Excellent round acidity, beautiful, soft structure, well balanced and a pleasant finish.
A couple more years in bottle add a point or two & more complexity. .
A little history from their website. Watson Ranch Vineyard is perched on a steep hillside overlooking the San Pablo Bay at the southernmost end of the Napa Valley. The ranch was named after early Napa attorney, Augustus Watson, who owned the property in the early 1900s. The adjacent property is an abandoned limestone quarry which historically employed over 300 people, mining material to make portland cement used to rebuild San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake. — 2 years ago
Smooth, plum fruity flavors. Aged well. — 5 years ago
Perfect New Years Eve Wine - it’s juicy, fun and full bodied. And I hate saying full bodied. — 6 years ago

Founded in 1880 by Augustus Quitzow, Sonoma's Geyser Peak is California's 29th bonded winery. Their Russian River Valley Pluto's Fury is GP's top Pinot Noir. From the Middle Reach of RRV (immediately south of Healdsburg and where the river exits Alexander Valley and enters RRV). Produced from vineyard sites situated among the Westside Road wineries and vineyards, including Williams Selyem's Estate, J. Rochioli, Bacigalupi, Bucher, Allen, and Flax vineyards (to name just a few). While this won't be mistaken for Selyem or Rochioli, it's quite representative of the locale, with copious amounts of black cherry, clove, charred oak, with some secondary baking spice and barbecue smoke. The silky, yet structured mouthfeel works wonders, accentuating every curve. — 9 years ago

Vintage 2024 | in the winelist described as a blend from sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc and viognier. Jolly good with expressieve peach and mango bouquet and supple taste. My appreciation was influenced by sitting on a sunny terrace with a salade niçoise. At Augustus in The Hague. — 10 months ago
