Alsace Gewürztraminer

Alsace Gewürztraminer 2003

Thought I’d bring this bottle in to celebrate 😍 somehow it managed to survive being forgotten in my father’s office for years and still tastes zingy (but probably towards the end of its life).

Thanks Julia for sharing this. Candied pineapple and ripe red apple flavors showed through here. Really attractive but certainly in it's post retirement stage of life here.

And spack for my back, as well... 😀

Domaine Léon Boesch

Les Fous Alsace Gewurztraminer

Perfect expression of the varietal, palate begins with honey, finishes long. Pithy tropical notes after a bit...needs to be cold. Stands up to a fatty steak and salty fare. — 20 days ago

Lucien Albrecht

1698 Crémant d'Alsace Brut Chardonnay

Lucien Albrecht pioneered Crémant production in 1971 and helped gain an Appellation Contrôlêe for the wine and for Alsace. Pale lemon color, fine bubbles with a light creamy mousse and aromas of fresh stone fruit with biscuit scents. On the palate ripe apple, citrus and peachy flavors with nice mineral tones, dry with vivid acidity. Lingering finish with good balance ending with fruit, slight mineral and yeast tang. Excellent value as a Champagne alternative! Tasting Sample. — 7 days ago
