Extreme value.
BF that knows wine: There are wines that you’d only date and there are wines you’d want a relationship with and this is a relationship wine.
Not too fussy, very consistent, medium bodied but with some spice. Financial goals are aligned. Not a trophy wife wine - but someone you’d be proud to introduce to your friends .
Me: 👀 idk what that’s description is about bc I’m in this relationship and those characteristics don’t describe me. But my thoughts: I’d buy again and it pairs well with White Lotus. I’m going to bring it to my “2023 intention setting dinner” with a group of girlfriends. Will update if it pairs well with intentions. — 2 years ago
Classic Pegau style, a nod to tradition with WC ferm but some pushing from an extraction standpoint. Deep, dark, savory and operating on a lower wavelength. Not an aromatic expression of CNdP, but wholesome and shows its character in its riches on the palate. Muddled red and black fruits, from berry/plum to fig/prune, leather, tar, roasted espresso, garrigue, hot stones and iron, rich in brett but working well the wine. This was a night 2 wine, it needs some obviously time to let its layers unfold. 2016s have a certain edge and lift to them for me, this almost aligned more with the ‘15 vintage given its tenacity and strength — 5 years ago
Elegant French oak, high toned cherry, plum, blackberry, vanilla bean, tobacco, and bell pepper. Round and rich, with bright red berry and plum fruit. Acid and tannin are well aligned. Well developed and finishes with persistence. Paired perfectly with prime rib. — 5 years ago
Closed and disjointed at opening but came together nicely after a 4 hr decant. Well balanced density and acidity - notable lift. Secondaries showing nicely, tertiaries developing well, perfectly integrated tannin. This is a great time to drink. Aging further may benefit tertiary flavor development and there’s certainly sufficient acid to carry it through, but may have notable textural decline. Of the four wines tasted (Scarecrow 12, Promontory 14, Continuum 13) it was second favorite and most closely aligned stylistically with Scarecrow. — a year ago
Very nice for the price point.
Love Albariño, am I going to the seaside, am I going Tropical, bitting lemons... ? Should we come up with a scale, like the sugar ladder on bottles of Riesling?
Slap you awake, crisp lemony acidity, some stainless, mineral in the direction of salinity but could also be a fusion of stainless and acidity, slight waxy floral.
Bright yellow synthetic cork was fun, noticeable, and investigable. Orange would be more aligned with the hues in the label, but, thats just me.

This latest NV release with 2017 as the based wine and disgorged in 2022 is very much aligned with Landon’s house style, which l like a lot. Clean and refreshing with nice yeasty and mineral notes. This release has very high percentage of reserved wines at 45%, possibly due to the week 17’ vintage, which shows very sharp high tone acidity.
Still quite good, though I would prefer base wine from better vintages. — a year ago
Nice sweet mature Gerwurz that aligned with Mabel and perfect for her fish taco and other dishes. — 3 years ago

Aligned with Vinous on this. Not quite as nuanced and textured as the Hudson SV’s, more delicate, but still impressive. See prior notes for more details.
