I hope everyone is well? Tonight I have opened the 2017 Maison Roy & Fils Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley Dundee Hills, Oregon made with organic grapes.
On the nose there is bing cherry, raspberry, clove, floral notes, a good funk, mint, wet leaves and forest floor.
On the palate there is bing cherry, raspberry, cranberry, clove, spice, vanilla, violet and forest floor.
This wine is medium bodied with medium to + acidity and medium to + fine tannins that seamlessly move into a long tart berry finish. Please everyone as we move into this weekend stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 days ago
Very strawberry. Rhubarb. Orange juice. Great tannin management. I am not such a big fan of strawberry driven pinots. It’s a good wine but I will step away from big table farm. Eric Asimov from the NYT is a fan. This seems to be their house style. A great wine for sure but for me just too much strawberry compote. Turns plummy after 1 hour open to air. — 22 days ago
Belle Pente (bell-pont') means "beautiful slope" - for their 70 acre hillside vineyard & winery site in Willamette Valley. Bright Ruby red with aromas of red fruits, herb spices and hints of blossom notes. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors, slight sweet undertones, herb notes and smooth tannins. Well balanced on a long finish ending with mineral herb notes. Nice!! Great value. — 11 hours ago
