Maison Roy & Fils

Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2017

I hope everyone is well? Tonight I have opened the 2017 Maison Roy & Fils Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley Dundee Hills, Oregon made with organic grapes.

On the nose there is bing cherry, raspberry, clove, floral notes, a good funk, mint, wet leaves and forest floor.

On the palate there is bing cherry, raspberry, cranberry, clove, spice, vanilla, violet and forest floor.

This wine is medium bodied with medium to + acidity and medium to + fine tannins that seamlessly move into a long tart berry finish. Please everyone as we move into this weekend stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Wapato Ridge Vienyard Pinot Noir 2013

Bam! What a wonderful Pinot by an amazing winemaker! The character of this limited offering is outstanding. Everything one wants in complexity, soil, fruit, and albeit sacred character is present in this wine. 2012. — 13 days ago

Big Table Farm

Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2017

Very strawberry. Rhubarb. Orange juice. Great tannin management. I am not such a big fan of strawberry driven pinots. It’s a good wine but I will step away from big table farm. Eric Asimov from the NYT is a fan. This seems to be their house style. A great wine for sure but for me just too much strawberry compote. Turns plummy after 1 hour open to air. — 22 days ago

Belle Pente

Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2015

Belle Pente (bell-pont') means "beautiful slope" - for their 70 acre hillside vineyard & winery site in Willamette Valley. Bright Ruby red with aromas of red fruits, herb spices and hints of blossom notes. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors, slight sweet undertones, herb notes and smooth tannins. Well balanced on a long finish ending with mineral herb notes. Nice!! Great value. — 11 hours ago

Domaine Serene

Yamhill Cuvée Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2017

Normally prefer Cali Pinot to Oregon, but this was tasty. Drier on the palate but the fruit showed up after an hour open. Surprisingly to me, actually held up to meatloaf. Nice! — a month ago
