N: Lemons, ginger, banana peel, very fresh, like a just passed thunderstorms sun. You can smell the oak, but it’s like a ghost in the background.
P:Lemon custard, ever so light, creamy, tart, long finish, slight wood. He was really talented.

If served this “ blind”, very few would peg it as a Cali Chard. A stylistic response to criticism of previous, over the top Chards.
With time and air, some flinty mineral goodness appears along with the sensation of citrus pith. — 6 days ago
Dusty cherries, dried raspberries, a healthy pinch of dried herbs.
Bone dry, fresh, juicy, with a mineral backbone.
Brilliant rosé - for sipping and with food. — 4 days ago
Glorious length, palate-staining. Not fat but very pure & forceful waves of citrus, stone-fruit, minerals. Plenty of acidity, could age more — no idea which way the flavor profiles evolves. — 10 days ago
This was my note from my last tasting of this: Bought this after tasting at the vineyards. I usually avoid non N. Rhone viognier like the plague (or Covid, too soon?). But this was excellent, and compelling enough to make me buy more than 1 btl. Notes from Day 2 open, and in the fridge overnight, and then in a refrigerated bag during a hike followed by a long car ride. On the nose: peach, tangerine, lychee, so vibrant and with a soft minerality. On the palate: excellent acidity, which is always the problem outside the Rhone, good density...sappy without being overly oily, fantastic minerality on the palate with a soft bitter walnut note. Excellent.
This time, perhaps a bit less minerality. — 25 days ago
Beautiful French-style CA Pinot. — 3 hours ago
Wow. Kinda blew me away. Pale color, led to bigger nose than expected. First taste balanced, spicy, — 5 days ago
Lovely light oak, lime and a tiny spicy hint of the exotic. All that is fabulous about new oak chardonnay — 10 days ago
