Cool monkey puzzle tree label drew me in. Dark, deep maroon. Blood or bruised plums at sunset. Smells of cigars (not box, actual cigar) and coffee with a hint of mints and red berries. Flavors are more tobacco products and a rich black berry, roasted red pepper streak. Bright and lively in some ways though. This is a great low cost Carmenere. Balanced, big and delicious. And it might even get more exciting and develop some complex subtleties as it get a bit older. — 5 months ago
Haven’t opened this one for a bit. Developing nicely! Earth and smashed blackberries on the nose. The palate is black cherry with a hint of vanilla and just enough stem to balance it and give it structure. — 6 months ago
100 % mourvedre grape, whole grapes are fermented for 10 days in open tanks, then pressed and directly matured in oak barrels. No yeast added, pure ambient fermentation. 100% malolactic fermentation.
Wild and untamed one, spicy (cinnamon, Pepper), earthy.
