Oh the calamity.....leftover Waygu steak from last night's zoom Cain tasting...had to pop something worthy to go with it!
1.5 hour decant(decent chunky sediment). A majestic inky purplish garnet color. On the nose: a surprisingly subtle nose of dark cherry, spearmint, little blueberry, vanilla oak, graphite, and cedar. Taste: creamy, juicy, full body wine with blackberry, pencil lead, leather, cassis, and a long spiced dark chocolate finish. YUM!!! Drinks well with the decant and should keep going for many years. — a month ago
Nose is dominated by flowers and cinnamon. Palate displays coffee notes, sandalwood, smoke and star anise. Tannins are still prominent, as is the acidity. It’s so vibrant and textured. The finish just extends and expands. Another one of our domestic pinot faves.
I was thrilled to read in a recent WS article shared by a friend, that TRB has taken full ownership of this winery. He has a compelling vision for its future. Schrader inadvertently threw shade on this. That’s going to change going forward. — a month ago
As good as it gets for for cab. — 6 days ago
My first taste of Old Sparky did not disappoint - the wine was showing beautifully after a 30m decant. Full and rich on the nose, the deep dark fruit from Tokalon still had young tannins that build a structure for the wine which was remarkably feminine for a Napa cab. Delightful. — 2 months ago
