South Pass Oregon Syrah 2018

Bellingar Estates South Pass Syrah 2018, Oregon

Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of black plums, wild flowers, cooked blueberries, light wood, earth, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, violets and herbs.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, light oak, licorice, spices, coffee, chocolates and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This Syrah from Oregon is drinking very nicely now. rich and fruit forward.

Nicely balanced and elegant. Showing nice complexity with a nice, soft mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up. I gave it two hours in a decanter.

This Single Vineyard is interesting and easy drinking. Fragrant and aromatic with a teeth staining color. Feels very much like a good quality California Syrah.

Aged in French oak barrels (10% new) for 24 months. A very small production of only 100 cases.

13.9% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$50.

L'Ensemble Pinot Noir 2018

Dark rubi robe, anise, crushed flowers and a hint of asian spices on the nose, very dense and complex, its fantastic after 1 hour on the decanter, but ideally you should wait 3 to 5 years to have its best. — 8 days ago

La Combe Verte Chardonnay 2019

Super reductive. Nutty, tight, flinty. Needs a long decant at this point. Day 2 turns into something quite special for the price point. Saltywaxy citrusy Oregon meets Chablis meets Jura. — 4 days ago

Pale straw w/greenish hue - expressive nose of sweet citrus & honeydew melon + some tropical fruit. Quite the SB nose, silky suave mouthfeel and a beautiful harmony of fruit, texture & acidity. Not Alsatian style - I’d say very New World and impressive. — 7 days ago

Guadalupe Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Color of light purple with a bit grey tone. Quite clear. Nose of beautiful dried strawberry, aldehyde, roasted pepper, a bit prune, a bit spice, and under the current strength of alcohol. Taste is refreshing, with hint of Coca-Cola, minty, memory of fresh berries, slightly sweet, clean and flavorful. Aftertaste shows some more zest and hint of tannins, drizzled with fresh green grapes. Medium long. Nicely done. — 9 days ago

Medium yellow color. Aromas of tamarind, apple-pear, fig and honeysuckle. The aroma are killer on this wine, loads of aromas, followed by a crisp refreshing taste. Ab Fab. — a day ago

'Gargantua Pantagruel' Syrah 2018

Smells of honey dipped violets.

Classic barnyard funkiness, that gives way to deep candied cherry cordial, tobacco leaf, some pencil lead, some high acid and strapping tannin. Will lay the other one down for a couple more years to smooth out.

Where ya Pjs at? Pinot Gris 2020

Immediately wanted this wine due to the attractive label and funny as hell reviews left by other drinkers! Was not disappointed. Truly effervescent, almost bordering on a sparkle but with natural juiciness and flavor that leaves me thinking slightly of a good light kombucha. Slight acidity balanced with slight sweetness, pretty in a wine glass and goes down easy. Grabbing another bottle ASAP! — a day ago

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2017

Refined and bold and full of cherry and fruit right out of the bottle. Fabulous and big on the tongue. Lots of bold cherry and a bit of spice. Lovely linger on the tongue. Worked well with veg meal. — 3 days ago

I get used to Rombauer as my chardonnay baseline. This held up and then some. It’s not quite as oaky and mouth-filling, but it’s still terrific. The main note of difference I got was tobacco, and I really enjoyed that. — 4 days ago
