Politically Correct Red Wine 2016

This is a very tasty Bordeaux blend from Lodi. Showing nice complexity, but a little unbalanced.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity (and some RS), on the palate with blackberries, black currants, eucalyptus, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, Mediterranean spices, espresso, cola, light herbs and black pepper.

Tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries.

This 5 year old is big, bold and extracted. A little much, but very enjoyable.

This is an Orin Swift look alike, from the bottle look, to the wine style.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime.

Thank you Wendy for sharing this with me.

Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years, and see if it calms down a bit.

A blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon ,5% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. Aged in French oak barrels (33% new).

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$50.

Cuvée Indigène Chardonnay 2016

16’ Peter Michael Cuvee Indigene.
Do yourself a favor & decanted this in a cellar for 60- 90 minutes.
Intense nose of mineral, dried apricot, peach.
WOW… Rich pear, fig, butter, honeysuckle, hazelnut, Banana foster, 4/10 acidity.
Flipping sick!
Wish I had a case of this.
No problem holding onto this wine for another decade.

@David L we had the 2014 version of this in a 6 bottle blind horizontal of all the PM chards back in May. Consensus of the wine group was the Cuvée Indigene was the favorite, even over the point rouge.

@Mark Turner Not surprised…that’s what I come to expect from Peter Michael. Just make the best wine you possibly can is there attitude. Get your hands on some of the 16. Wait a few years and enjoy.

L'Apres-Midi Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Ming L
9.2

Only the hint of lime and tropical fruits on the nose would lead to SB. Pear, gala apple, honeysuckle, and roasted almond. Rich palate but remains agile. Creamy texture. Great balance. Suggestion of sea breeze lead to a mineral driven long finish.

Not your typical SB, but very well made and elegant. 10% Semillon, raised in 100% French oak barrel for 8 months. No MALO.

Napa Valley Fumé Blanc 2017

It has been a long time since I have had this wine! Crisp acidity, white flowers especially on the finish, grapefruit, apples, lemon, apricots a hint of creaminess on midpalate. Exactly what I was looking for on a humid evening! 14.5 alc. Is hiding in there! 🤔 — 15 days ago
