Chilean Bordeaux Style blend that includes Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (20%) and Carmenere (10%). Light ruby color with a distinctive orange rim. Showing its age a bit but still quite enjoyable. Aromas of dried black cherries/berries along with hints of tobacco and wet soil. Flavors of dark chocolate, prunes, blackberries, coffee, cassis and a bit of black licorice. Nice presence of oak on the medium finish. Medium-plus texture and body. Acidity is quite present which gives this wine a bit of youthful freshness. Very interesting to try and still quite alive. These normally take some time before showing well. But this 21 was one of the top 10 in the 70 or so I tasted. Showing nicely & quite beautiful. 95-97 aged appropriately.

Inky dark color. Tomato leaf, coffee, and mint on the nose. More pyrazine notes on the palate along with cocoa, cranberry, leather, black pepper, molasses, raisins, coffee, tobacco, and dark cherry. I have tasted this producer infrequently, but what I have tasted from them have all been good to very good. This was an end of event taste. Palate was a bit fatigued at this point. Would have enjoyed tasting this with a fresher palate. 93+

Meatball was really good. Never had one that rode the top of fence of Italian & Mexican characteristics. Unique in that regard.

At Pebble Beach Food & Wine 2025.

The ticket to this event has a pretty big price tag. But when you consider what a Napa etc. tasting or two and lunch would cost you, you are pretty much there and there is so much more than that. It ends up having great value. It’s wine, spirits and food candy land. — 23 days ago
