Spring Mountain Vineyard

Elivette Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2008

Some wines age well, while others age amazingly well.
This one is the later version.
Deep and brooding with supple notes.
Bramble and blackberry with blue fruit and figs.
Even bigger on the mid palate with a loooong silky seductive finish that lingers longer!
These Elivette Cab blends are made to age and they rarely disappoint!
Happy Fourth of July weekend!

Smith Madrone

Spring Mountain District Riesling 2016

This is a very tasty Riesling from Napa Valley.

Medium-bodied with medium-plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel.

This 6 year old is showing lemons, yellow apples, petrol, plastic, cream, earth, minerals, herbs, sea salt and white pepper.

I had it a year ago, and it seems like it is less fruit forward now.

Spicy and entertaining. Good by itself or with food. Showing nice complexity and better when not too cold.

12.8% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Bianco Centennial Mountain Carricante 2017

First vintage of some newly planted Sonoma coast Carricante by the Rhys people. Quite nice. Kind of like a slightly fleshier orchardy Albariño. Pair with Seafood. — 4 days ago

Coliseum Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

I noticed this wine because of its depth of flavor. Imagine a Richter scale — this had that largest magnitude of the night. This has the depth and finish you would expect. — 2 days ago

Dunn Vineyards

Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 1986

Backward mountain fruit, but not as tannic as I’d expected, though this should easily last another 25 years, old school Cal Cabernet (13% ABV) that I long for!! — 5 days ago

Further improved on day 2.
Lots of oak treatment on the nose and palate. Tannins are still quite robust, along with the acidity. Best Lamborn in a while. Drink or hold this vintage.
