New puppy celebration night. Hi Maze, we love you. — 25 days ago
I think my first btl of this must have been from a friend's stock as I thought I was out of this. On the nose: massive reduction, with loads of struck match...this suggests a gravitas that the wine just can't live up to. Reduction dominates the nose, so there's nothing else to say about that. On the palate, hi-toned meyer lemon, rich lemon tart with butter, but surprisingly light-bodied..leaning a touch thin. Ok finish, which shows some white pepper. OK, but slightly disjointed...moral is: noble reduction and a big punt does not a great white burg make? — 2 months ago

3 hrs in a wide-bottom decanter before tasting. A **stunning** bottle of Cote Rotie. On the nose: oak influence at first, but a few swirls and and that is overtaken by a heavenly and musky wild strawberry and blackberry perfume, then some citrus blossom, and as the fruit recedes a bit, it blends into a kind of vanilla compote. On the palate, fantastic acidity and hi-toned, while being weightless and simultaneously dense...just dances on the palate with lemon and sweet blackberry, and a soft leathery tang. Wow, this is unbelievable for being this young. While this might shut down, if it doesn't, I can't imagine how this could ever not be compelling. — 13 days ago
Soft tannins with leather spice box and everything nice....not big and not going to kick your ass, say hi to it and make friends with it...it’ll be your buddy. — a month ago
Pop and pour, should have given this more air as it improved with each minute open. On the nose: pure wild strawberry, saffron, sweet melon, soft vanilla, and a touch of funk. On the palate: excellent acidity, more wild strawberry, sweet tomato paste, lovely light touch, with a surprising density, and a hi-toned cola and strawberry finish, rounded out by very finely grained tannin. — 6 days ago
Stunning. Brought this up yesterday as a back-up wine, which was doing this btl a disservice. Popped and poured. On the nose: soft funk, loads of red raspberry, musk, hides the ABV so well. On the palate, good acidity, loads of raspberry fruit, confit pomegranate seed, very hi-toned, with a touch of pomegranate and cranberry syrup. Very finely grained tannin on the long, and slightly black-peppery finish. — a month ago
Down to sea in ships! Hi lay on the beach. Light caramel in the glass.
Broad and a multitude of textures and flavors on the palate. From creamy to steely cut. Oh Mama!
While I took my first sips, The King Of Spain was playing on Mountain Stage.
