Graves De Vayres, Entre Deux Mers

Château La Fleur des Graves

Graves de Vayres Rouge 2016

2016 vintage. A wine from the confidential Graves de Vayres appellation in Bordeaux, made by Yves Glotin (Château Goudichaud) who is also president of the Syndicat des Graves de Vayres. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (50/50). Fresh red fruit (cherries, strawberries) and spicy oak in the nose. Medium-bodied, juicy, round and fresh, well-structured without hard edges. Good length with retronasal red fruit and some spiciness. Well worth seeking out and good value at 14 euro. Abv. 13,5%. — 6 days ago

Château Landereau

Entre-Deux-Mers Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2019

Lemon, yellow fruits (pineapple, passion fruit, mango) on the nose. This is rather fruity and inviting. The palate is rather round but dry at the same time. Strong acid backbone, good grip, lemon all along, good width, vivid mouthfeel thanks to the freshness and grip, good finish with lemon. It was served along a fisherman's see food plate (raw oysters, various see snails, prawns, langoustine, half a crab). Very good pairing. — 2 months ago

Château Biac

Cuvée Felix de Biac 2015

2016 vintage. Château Biac is situated in the Cadillac region, and it was acquired by the Lebanese Asseily family in 2006. It is considered exceptional terroir for the region and it shows in their must humble wine. Le Felix is their third wine and it is absolutely delicious. — 17 days ago

Château Fayard

Marquis de Musset St. Macaire Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

9.1

@Delectable This is the blanc, no red can be bottled under the Saint Macaire appellation. Anyway, most of the wines in the appellation are sweet, this is the rare dry one, and it's fantastic. 70% Semillon, the rest SB and Muscadelle. Drinking very well, pretty with a few years of age. There's a honeyed, nutty tone to the passion fruit, apricot and vanilla flavors. Creamy, textured and rich. Really good stuff. Relatively pricey at €18, but worth every penny. — 2 months ago

Les Hauts de Lagarde

Entre-Deux-Mers Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

A very young Bordeaux. It smells better than it tastes: mushroom, earthy, graphite. Nice tannins. A decent organic wine from Bordeaux given the price. — 12 days ago

Very easy to drink, nice and crisp with mild acidity but good apricot and white grape. An excellent find. — 18 days ago

Château Loupiac-Gaudiet

Loupiac Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2003

Vintage 2003 | I find this Loupiac wine incredible good. While aging it keeps a fresh character, not showing age. It has a mesmerizing apricot smell and awesome balance. Really a gem in the cellar that gives instant joy when opening a bottle. Like this september Sunday when I made a Reine Claude Plums Crumble. A marriage made in heaven. — 2 months ago
