Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2011

I think this may be my first ever Barbaresco. Decanted for four hours. Having alongside short rib bolognese home made all the way.
Medium body. Transparent garnet with tawny edge. Lots going on with the nose! Strawberries, spice, flowers, dusty stone, just a hint of leather, and cedar. On the palate pomegranate, cherry, strawberry, cranberry, and sweet tobacco. Will not be my last Barbaresco!

@Paul K Happy New Year to you and your family!! We love Barbaresco wines!! Best approach to it is to visit the region during white truffle season, drink locally, and bring copious amounts of it home with you 😂 A few producers we recommend trying are Sottimano, Roagna, La Spinetta, Vietti, Bruno Rocca… obviously you’ve discovered Gaja 💕😆

@Paul K P.S. An insanely good QPR can also be found with Nebbiolo Langhe wines, made with the same grape, but in a more youthful, early-drinking style at a fraction of the price. For example GB Burlotto’s Nebbiolo Langhe is stunning!! 😍 Cheers, friend!! We look forward to hearing what you think on this journey! 🍷🍷

Sorì Tildìn Langhe Nebbiolo 2013

Opened beautifully. Lush first glass. Powerful cherry and dark fruit but not so sweet. Tannins made it mellow but long. Then the wine shut down and didn’t open back up for about 2 hours. It was sweeter but retained the complexity. It was in its drinking window but perhaps a longer decant next time or sit on this a few more years. — 4 days ago

Charming chard from the Piedmonte icon. Aromatic nose, thanks to a dash of SB, with peach, lemon curd, hint of mix tropical fruits, almond, and white floral. Nicely textured medium to full body. Refreshing round acidity. Seamless from start to finish. — a month ago

Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2007

2007 vintage.
Black cherry, leather, black tea, plum and mushroom.
Tannins are well developed and acidity is still crisp on the finish.
Beautiful with Wagyu beef.

Lots of heft and complexity. The fruit is still packing a nice punch but it’s deeper and more mature. Tobacco. Red fruits. Strong tannins. Great color. — 13 days ago
