Bòggina A Val d'Arno di Sopra Sangiovese 2016

Not your typical sangiovese. Instead of the herbs flavor it is replaced by a mineral driven flavor but the cherries are all here. Not sure how it will age kept 2 to see long term...not a sangio for a crowd used to italian wine very particular style — 9 months ago

Galatrona Merlot 2015

Dark Ruby in colour. Rich aromas of Blue and black fruits, ripe plum, leather and pipe tobacco. On the medium to full bodied palate there is ripe plum, savoury blue berry, spice and dark chocolate finishing with fine grained tannins. In a blind tasting I would swear this had a Cabernet component but it is 100% delicious Tuscan Merlot. To be honest there are not special examples of Australian Merlot and I need to drink more of the grape to become more familiar with its flavour profile, but this was outstanding for sure. — 3 months ago

Agreed on the cost savings. Our bottles should be hiding with some Torrione, the lower cost sibling.

Boggina Toscana Sangiovese 2013

Villa Petrolo

Bòggina C Red Blend 2015

Ok so I was a bit confused about the C here. Here's the score:
A=Anfora, B =Bianca, C=Classico.
So this is the Classico, Petrolo's top Sangiovese. It was extremely elegant with great vibrancy. Cherry and floral flavors about. Very pretty indeed.

Barone Ricasoli

Casalferro Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2010

Adrian Bryksa

Eyes: Light + to Medium bodied. Ruby / purple core trailing slightly to the edge of the glass.
Bouquet: Plum, violet with hints of cooked meat, spice, hard raspberry candy and clay.
Palate: Medium bodied with a round, elegant mouth feel. Notes of plum, cherry and flowers are carried by medium acidity and polished tannins. Despite carrying 14.5% ABV, there is absolutely nothing out of place here with the entire drinking experience being harmonious and pure. The length on the finish sails for minutes.
Conclusion: Add this wine to the great Tuscan Merlots like those from Tua Rita, Petrolo and Ornellaia at a savings of at least 30% per bottle. Superb now, this will reward 7 to 10 years of cellar time if you can wait.
