I like it. Crisp and fine. I was expecting more secondary aromas and flavors for the price. This is still a baby, so I’m going to hold off judgement til later, but at the moment overpriced. Also 500m. Might be higher altitude than some parts of #Portugal, but it’s really not that high. La Mancha starts at 700m. And of course we all know about vineyards near the Andes. — 22 days ago
Very expressive & bursting with freshly cut, wet herbs - basil, mint, thyme, tarragon, salvia - on a solid bed of minerality and a touch of exotic fruit.
On the palate this shows great purity & precision - herbs & fruit again, with beautiful minerality shining through a very long finish.
This is quite distinctive and very, very good! — 8 months ago
This wine needs to breathe a bit to enjoy fully. This white blend is made from hand-selected Encruzado (50%) Malvasia Fina (30%) and Gouveio (20%) grapes. A blend of Encruzado, which brings loads of citrus, minerality, and rich texture, Verdelho, lending spice, and the highly aromatic grape Malvasia. The combination is complex, with flavors ranging from creamy-citrus to flinty-mineral. An excellent introduction to Portuguese white wine, and a solid choice if you're in need of a little excitement in the white wine area. — a year ago

Perched above the Dão river that snakes its way through granite valleys, the Adega de Penalva is one of the leading cooperatives in the area. The group boasts around a thousand member growers, but it’s important to note that the average holding per member amounts to barely over a hectare. From these small plots they craft simple but delicious wines with a real sense of place. This wine is 40% Encruzado, with 30% Malvasia and 30% Cerceal, hand-harvested, fully destemmed and fermented and raised in stainless steel. — 9 months ago
