Tio Pepe 'Fino En Rama' Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Palomino Fino

Summer peak and Fino for the wine geek, while I cross my fingers for a sunny streak.
So good, so comforting, so fresh.. like a salty sea breeze that gentle brush your cheeks. Give me two fistfulls of Marcona almonds, plain white bread and a dozen boquerons and I'll be a happy camper.
12th edition of the “en Rama” unfiltered, average five year in the Solera from a year with a “particular healthy flor”.
Fresh as a daisy, intense with a good concentration, yellow bruised apples, lemon zest, chamomille and hay with plenty of iodine, bread dough, salted nuts and chalk that is dancing around. Bone dry palate where the moderate acidity is balanced by a fresh saline structure that keeps the beat and brings nerve through a dimensional mid palate and long chalky finish.

Vin de Pays d'Oc Syrah Blend 2018

Dan R

This tastes like a really good version of exactly what you think it would taste like. A good southern French red red that is - kinda foxy, vinous, with some earth and pepper on the palate, some green notes, and a macerated blackberry / raspberry core. Weighty, but with a nice beam of acidity and grainy tannins. Solid wine. Great match with carbonara, it would have killed with caccio e Pepe — 2 months ago

Masseria Cicella

Pepe Nero Primitivo di Manduria 2018

This is a dark wine, in color, aroma and taste. The nose is extremely savory, with tar paving the way for anise, blackberry and currant. The freshness is amazing, with a lively acidity and firm tannins. Pair it with game if you've got it, Bolognese if you don't. It's actually so good you may not even think to have food with it. — 2 months ago

Pepe Mendoza Casa Agricola

Giró de Abargues

Delicious. Medium color and body. Light juicy and floral aromas. #giro grape. Pepe and I traded bottles. I asked him about this grape and I’m still awaiting a response. There’s a Giro grape on Mallorca that was recovered by some friends of mine Miquel and Toni Gelabert, but that grape is white and has gris and red mutations…this wine of Pepe from #Alicante is red and not gris. Then there’s a Giro on Sardegna but Pepe has yet to tell me if it’s the same as the Sardinian grape or not. In any case it’s somewhere between a Light Garnacha and a Trosseau noir very perfumed and soft. Highly recommendable. I drank straight away because it was too tasty but it can age for 3/5 years no problem. — a month ago

Familia Zuccardi

Valle de Uco Malbec 2015

Named after Pepe (José) Zuccardi, who runs winery alongside his son Sebastián, 10% Cab Sauv added, deep Ruby with aromas of dark red fruits, baking spice and dried floral notes. On the palate flavors of blueberry and blackberry with licorice, herb pepper and oak. Fine grainy drying tannins, lively acidity, long finish ending with fruit and mineral spice. Nice! — a month ago
