Domaine Roblet-Monnet

Saint-Francois Volnay Pinot Noir 2007

Black cherry and red raspberry fruit aromas with a hint of creamy oak, damp leaves and violets. Red Pinot fruit on the front of the palate with earth and a touch of greeness derived from the acidity. Tannins are fully integrated. This wine has soul but lacks a touch of cohesion on the palate. Drinking at it peak or just past. — 6 months ago

Santenots Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Started out a little mossy then turned pretty hard into a deep, mushroom thing on the nose. — 5 years ago

Hautes Cotes de Beaune Pinot Noir

Medium dark rubi robe, notes of cherries and red fruit, very fooral top note with hints of spices. Medium bodied, balanced, with a bit of new oak that does not detract from the complex raw materials. Really good and recommended at this price point. — 8 months ago

Solid tart cherry and earthy flavors, just lacking the minerality that I seek in Burgundy. — 4 years ago

Vieilles Vignes Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017

Earthy at first and then mellows to a fruit driven taste with strong earthy background. — 7 months ago

Le Val Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Very 2008 vintage with cool red fruit tones, a hint of sous bois and spice. The wine is fresh and bright in the palate. Red cherry, cranberry and pomegranate fruit are surround by great fruit tannins. This is lithe and focused. — a year ago

Taillepieds Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

Delectable Wine

The 2015 Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru shows a bit of reduction on the nose, eventually clearing to offer undergrowth and bay leaf infused red fruit. The palate is underpinned by firm tannin, impressive depth. Quite a complex and grippy Volnay with superb length. Pascal Roblet has really got a handle on this Volnay. I can see this ageing with style and panache. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2018)
