Took a little while to open up but this was superb. — 4 years ago
The waitress took away our bottle too quickly and I couldn't snap it but this went super well along our see food plate (different types of see snails, raw oysters, big pink shrimps, scampi...).
Mineral nose with crushed rocks, lemon and an herbal note that sings. The palate is acid driven with good grip, a good width, some lemon notes all along anf à long lemony finish that goes on for a long while, complementing see food super well. Great pairing — 19 days ago
Reddish tawny color, translucent. Exotic herbal nose. Notes of cherry kirsch, herbs de provence, strawberries, dark soil. High pitched fruit in the mouth. Very Grenache. Chewy with some pucker. Good acidity for an 03. A bit over the top and not my style. — 10 months ago
My first exposure to any of Louis Boillot’s wines was his Pommard at Pierre Gagnaire in Paris, and I have been on the hunt for his wines ever since. This Beaune is extremely floral, full of bright red fruit and has a slight smokiness to it. Reasonably priced for a 1er Cru Burgundy and drinking so well for its age. — 3 years ago
