Light oak and buttery nose. Good minerality. Well rounded, good mouth feel. Had this at le Bernadin. — 3 years ago

Clos des Forêts is a monopole of Domaine de l’Arlot in the commune of Premeaux-Prissey. It’s located south of Les Saint Georges with Les Didiers directly in between and planted exclusively to Pinot Noir.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2021 “Clos des Forêts” pours a bright ruby with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart forest strawberries, tart brambles, cranberries, orange rind, charming old-world notes of horse blanket, mushrooms, sous bois, and soft warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and deliciously savory. I realize the 2021 vintage isn’t for everyone but I find the wines to be charming and this was a lovely example. Drink now through 2036. — 3 months ago
Changed from fresh and lively to funky good armpit. Delicious! Half-bottle. — 3 years ago
The aromatics lends itself to dark fruit with a bit of mushroom and funk. The palate more red fruit like cranberries, strawberries and candied raspberry. Acid is perfect to balance the fruit. Not real complex or has a long finish. Can’t complain given it was a gift. I’ll have more please. — 4 years ago
Quite intense garnet , deep with relatively narrow rim . Slightly smoky , dried rose note , undergrowth , dried meat , quite deep . On the palate still quite nice deep fruit , with nice definition menthol touches . Nice acidity , slightly dry tannin but pretty good length and nicely balanced . Drink now , a nice surprise ! — 9 months ago
Open in bottle for 10 hours. Rustic tobacco and leather over dried cranberry and cherry. 75% whole cluster shows. Vanilla and clove from 50% new French. Palate is balanced and deep rounding into this sweet midpalate cherry fruit. Tremendous length. Minerality lingers and is accented by elevated black pepper aromas. Still primary with pretty red transitioning to dark fruit. Lots of life in here and plenty of opportunity to evolve. — 4 years ago
