Young and elegant. More violet than roses, ripe strawberry, light tannins and light-ish finish. More “baby Barbaresco” than Barolo. From Astor Wines. 05/02/23 — 7 months ago
Slow ox’ed overnight. Day one, this was thin and brutally tannic. Typical ruby color in the glass with a faint orange rim. Aromatics of underripe strawberries, bing cherry, thyme, little VA, medicinal. Saved other half of bottle for following day.
Second day, the mid-palate has gained depth and the finish, while still tannic (even with food), was much more agreeable. More floral aromatically with tar, cherry menthol, and herbs de Provence at the finish.
I’d hold another 5-7yrs. For what it’s worth, I don’t drink much Italian wine but if I do, it’s normally Merlot or BdM. — a month ago
Max’s birthday wine. Super lovely and fruity but dry enough for me to enjoy. — 6 months ago
