Sounds amazingly like a Bordeaux I know but the mouth is very much Pinot Noir

Château La Croix

St. Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2014

53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 5% petit Verdot. Decanted for 2.5 hours. Earthy, graphite, hints of vanilla, cocoa, and a a good amount of herbaceousness. Springy and fresh acidity. Very tannic, lingers on the palate. Well structured. Absolutely delicious. — 13 days ago

Château Canon

Croix Canon Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

Lovely Bordeaux. We had 2011 in 2020, and were worried about dumb phase, but not a big vintage, so we chanced it. So glad we drank now.. gorgeous nose, full, velvety on the tongue, fruit but not huge, elegant, but not hiding, supple yet subtle. Really, really enjoyed this wine. — 6 days ago

Domaine Bernard Baudry

La Croix Boissée Chinon Cabernet Franc 2015

Loving the complexity and lots of flavors. Brick red in color, pretty vibrant still. Strong aromas. Like leather and black fruit. Medium high tannin. Medium acidity. Medium body. Tastes like a bit of leather or smoke but good fruit to balance that out. Medium long finish. I’m not a huge fan of the leather smoke notes but appreciate it for what it is and enjoying the complexity of flavors! I personally have to be in mood for this one but it’s a good one! — 15 days ago

Domaine Henry Pellé

La Croix au Garde Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Picked up a split of this because all my .375 empties got accidentally thrown out (I use them to store unfinished bottles in the fridge). So I was mostly after the bottle itself but what’s inside happens to be superb—lime, apple and floral notes with fine but not hard edged limestone mineral character, softened perhaps by the clay component of the terroir. I Sancerre-ly enjoyed it! — a month ago
