Dark cherries, chocolate, touch o' smoke on the nose.
Black, blue fruits, malt, coffee beans, bruised mint, acid seems a bit overdosed, medium weight, mild bitterness on the aftertaste reminds me of chewing on licorice wood.
Pretty expensive for what it is.

A perfectly smooth and well balanced new world red to enjoy with new friends at a nice old school New York City swanky hotel. Had this first as my float into a Devil’s Margarita which opened into a lovely discussion with some bar mates - and the end of which I made 2 new friends. A normal standalone glass of this is also quite wonderful and can stand by itself or go well with an accompaniment: snacks, cheese or a meal! — 2 months ago
I really enjoyed this - I felt like it was bold with dark fruit, and was better slightly chilled. — 2 days ago
Located in Tupungato region at 4757 feet elevation. White stones from an ancient river bed. Beautiful wine. — 2 months ago

sinto muito mato, um pouco talvez do alcool por ser ainda jovem, um pouco de dulçor,
aerou bastante, álcool assentou, sinto frutas doces e escuras, um pouco de baunilha

Nice red to pair with steak and chimichurri. Very reminiscent of malbec. Spicy notes. — 2 months ago

The 2020 Nicolás Catena Zapata is a blend composed of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec and 20% Cabernet Franc sourced from Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley. It was carefully aged for up to 16 months in French oak barrels. Garnet in hue. The nose reveals captivating cassis, rose, blackberry, plum and fig aromas harmoniously combined with dried flowers. The palate presents a dry and ample profile, with fine-grained tannins and a juicy flow that leads to a vibrant mouthfeel, brimming with energy. This meticulously crafted red achieves precise balance in a warm vintage. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, September 2023)
