Nice wine but not quite all together at this point. Decanted for 4 hours. But too much sweet oak for my taste. With Marcella Hazan’s bolognese it’s a nice pairing. Deep fruited and the merlot certainly comes through. Good acid, tannins still very there. With even more air probably gets to 9.0. But overall still a bit skeptical of super Tuscans in general. — 5 days ago
This bottle is drinking nicely. Morello cherry, tart plum, tomato leaf, dried herbs. Tart, savory with a touch of salinity and iron. Tannins are soft but still present and I like the acidity that balances out the wine. Very nice — 9 days ago
Dark red fruit, plum, dark cherry, tobacco, leather, oak, clove, cinnamon, and white pepper. Medium tannin, medium alcohol, and high acid. Recommend decanting. — 10 days ago
The riserva in this vintage is the better way to go v the Chianti Classico. More expression and the tannins have mellowed, just like a good riserva should work. If you ever get a chance to go to Volpaia, I highly recommend it. Easy point between Florence and Siena and you can stay with Guido and Martina at La Locanda. — 8 days ago
You are the king or the queen of the castle with this cab. Deep red, dark cherry, cigar box, pairs well with medium rare tenderloin. — 6 days ago
Not sure when/where we got this . . . hoping from Total Wine. Had as a cocktail with our Thanksgiving zoom, along with shrimp . . . fantastic!! Would definitely drink again 😊 — 15 hours ago
2014 drinking exceptionally well in late 2020. Complex, dry, without too much fruit and a quick finish. Should be a higher rating on this app. — 18 hours ago
Cigar, leather and smoke flavour.
Aftertaste of cognac and dry herbs.
Not too dry, not too acidic. Good balance.
Smooth wine. — 11 days ago
