A winemaker whom I first discovered at the one and only Au Bon Manger in Reims during a trip to Champagne, one to watch, Aurelien Lurquin. Unsurprisingly, his wines have all but disappeared in states. While my favorite cuvée will likely always be his 100% Meunier, Crayeres du Levant, 100% Pinot Noir Les Forcières is a gorgeous BdN. It’s powerful, rich and mineral with super floral aromatics and a stunningly luxurious texture. A beautiful young Champagne that there will simply never be enough of! — 2 years ago
Blew me away, super sweet red, made using over ripe grapes - an explosion of rich fruit flavours - incredible pairing with any cheese board — 12 days ago
love this wine, lots of Dr Pepper/RC Cola, delicious, actually works with a somewhat spicy food. funny to see that I didnt dig it 4 years ago but love now — 3 years ago
Banging. Hey color. Clean lemony nose. Super smooth — 2 months ago
A nice St Joseph for the price. Was a bit worried that the 2018 would be too flabby but this is relatively balanced. Nice blueberry fruit on the nose. Round and quite smooth. Acid a bit lacking on the finish which holds this back from being higher. Nice pairing with a Franklins bbq for Easter! — 3 months ago
Deep violet color. Heady, spice-accented red and dark berry aromas, along with suggestions of smoky bacon and licorice. Juicy and lithe on the palate, offering bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors that put on weight as the wine opens up. Shows fine definition and spicy cut on a long, juicy finish that features gently gripping tannins and a lingering suggestion of cracked pepper. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2022)
