Deep ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of blackberry jam, blueberry jam, black cherry, pomegranate, earth, anise, clove; dry, medium plus acid, ripe medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; very ripe but with structure to balance somewhat — 19 hours ago
The 2015 of this wine was a favorite as I could find in locally! Picked up this 2016 after work today to see how it compares. This wine has loads of black fruit, licorice, clove, vanilla medium bodied; and at this point soft tannins. A very nice Cabernet; just missing the "wow" factor of previous vintage.
Happy Labor Day weekend to all! 🌝

On a road trip from Houston to Anaheim. Decided to do dinner at our Borrego Springs house so stopped at Costco El Centro for some wine and beef. We looked for any of Houston favorites under $20 but they didn’t have any so we opted for this. Not very complex but ok to add to the under $20 lineup. — 2 days ago
$10 at TJ. Better with a steak but we both really liked it. Dry — 2 days ago
Excellent wine. Full of character. Great notes. — 7 days ago
Tropical fruit but while that might imply heaviness and oak, this is actually a really nicely balanced Chardonnay. Beautifully rounded in the mouth and a long graceful finish. It's all pleasure with the Stonestreet Upper Barn from 2017.
Incidentally, this is the first wine we've had since returning to Manhattan after five and a half months away. This bottle certainly helped smooth the edges on a fairly rough week of readjustment. — 19 days ago
Really good right now. Recommend decanting. Super complexity, mellow and delicate finish — 10 days ago
