Rías Baixas Albariño 2018

Melon, lemon curd, limestone and seaspray nose. Some apple and subtle lily fragrance. Battery acid palate. But fairly dense for an albarino. Just so acidic you can hardly tell. Very salty. Savory, almost buttery in its umami. This is a great wine but hard to drink at this point. I think it needs maybe 5 probably 10 years to mellow. — a month ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2013

Black cherry here and the characteristic raisin-y note. While floral was evident, the range of flavors was less than I expected. Still always nice when we're able to get in an Amarone. As for food, we paired this with a fairly powerfully-flavored zucchini, tomato, and sausage dish which seemed to mesh just fine. This wine isn't over-the-top powerful, but finding the right meaty accompaniment is key. — 3 months ago

La Antigua Clásico Rioja Blanco Viura Blend 2013

Interesting and food friendly tasty Spanish white of 70% Viura 20% Granacha Blanca 10% Tempranillo Blanco. Minerals and white flowers right on nose and balanced acidity and lively texture on palate carrying through to finish. 12ABV. 14mo in 80/20 French American oak but no sense of any heavy handed use. — a month ago
