2007 - bit shy at first but as it sat layers and layers of flavors started to appear. Violets, Asian spice. Cherry. Classy juice with a long life ahead

Intense black color with graphite and lead pencil on the nose. Massive wine still in need of a lot of time
Claude Dugat
Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1996
1996 - always have been a fan of Dugat. Black in color with plenty of extraction and flavor - in no way over the top. So much fruit that it would have been hard to say this was 96 as the acidity was very well integrated. Mouth coating and full with excellent persistence and length. Very good!

2007 - somewhat of a unicorn. Fun to taste but on this night did not seem to live up to its potential. Reserved dark fruited flavors seemed almost muted - still sleeping?

Latricières-Chambertin Pinot Noir 1971
1971 - classic old burgundy nose sous bois mushroom and forest floor with hints of red fruits peeking through. Great intensity on a rather delicate palate. At almost 50years old still drinking beautifully
So that’s where the sixth bottle went!
