Dark color, opaque. Has some (good) funk on the nose. Notes of black fruit, cedar desk, leather saddle, cracked walnuts and some blood sausage. Coats the mouth with softened tannins and rich fruit. Sort of angular rather than lush. Much better tonight than the last time I had this many years ago. In a great window. Enjoy now and for a long time in the future.

Elegant, perfectly structured, a fine fruit compote from the forest floor, backed with graphite at the back of the palate. Enoteca Pinchiorri was magnificent with a wonderful tour of the cellar included. I am going to ask if I can be buried in it.

Magnum 1982 Pichon Longueville Contesse de Lalande. First time any of us had tried this. July 4 group dinner at Bouch (A&S, J&D B, McC). Loved this. Decanted and served pretty quickly.
