Outstanding color given the age. Still quite ruby at the core. Palate is sanguine. Beef blood, smoke, and salty olives. A really wild ride. 650ml bottle.

Shockingly youthful—most who tasted blind guessed 15-20 years old. Earthy, tart cherry, black tea, smokey BBQ, sea salt. Really fun to try having tasted (and loved) more recent vintages

A unique nose of rye bread, BBQ sauce, anise, cherry fruit, and tar. Harvested just after Santana took the stage at Woodstock.

A great matured and aged wine lost much freshness but nice complexity and focused ripe fruits, savoury and nice tannins - Colares is a surviving appellation, hard conditions, sandy soil and ungrafted plats - a little magic of very fair price for aged wines 😃👍

This is the third (and last) bottle of 1969 we’ve tried in the past 5 years, and the first starting to show some clear decline, with a green asparagus note that shows on the palate and into the medium-long finish, but still, 55-year-old Ramisco?!?! Wow!

Medium garnet , terracotta with medium terracotta rim . Quite a lot of furniture polish , balsamic spice , red fruited sous bois , herbal touches . On the palate more cherry fruit, with that slightly volatile balsamic spice and a very strong mineral , salty marine finish . Fresh acidity , medium bodied with quite gritty tannins . Very unique , really surprisingly enjoyable . Long on the palate. Obviously mature , but who know how long this can continue on for ! Now and over next 10 -15 years .

Dark ruby-purple color, definitely shows a little VA, but this is so complex and shows aromas and flavors I’m struggling to identify, there is a subtle “foxy” aroma I associate with Native American hybrid grapes, very long finish, great wine!!

Deep, exuberant nose with scents of cherry, damp earth and hints of wood and balsamic and medicinal notes. Light-bodied, red fruit and minerals. Savory, complex, lively tannins and incredible freshness for a 53 year old wine (1969 vintage). Vibrant acidity and elegant length.

Champignons, balsamiques, sous-bois, notes tertiaires , tannins fondus mais une bouche douce, fine et agréable. 90-91

Mushrooms, balsamic and tertiary notes, silky texture, but still enough freshness and balance to make it enjoyable.

OK, this is 50+ year old Ramisco from Collares (note old spelling with 2 “ll”), grown in the SAND west of Lisbon, leather, earthy, just amazingly complex, balanced, with an incredible finish, a hand-carried bottle purchased at the winery 1 year ago, no way one smells and tastes this incredible Ramisco and (blind) would guess it’s a 1969 vintage, just incredible!!!
