Burgundian elegance and complexity in Grenache form. Highly drinkable now with extremely fine tannins and balanced acidity. Such a happy wine.

Licorice, strawberries, red currant, spicy herbs. Great acidity and length, complex and a deep concentration, amazing wine.

Exceptionally light extraction, high toned and infused. Crushed raspberry and cranberry, highly floral almost geranium, dried orange, black tea, dried herbs, potpourri, crushed rock, white pepper, 4-EP. Nice to see some definition fruit return this vintage but definitely microbial and marked by it.

The texture hits first with this soft, silky, voluminous but not weighty Garnacha. The nose is peppery and slightly reserved but the plate explodes with tart red cherry juice and red licorice- SO transparent. And the tannins are so fine they actually add pleasure. Totally unique, world-class wine.

I heard a rumor that a growing number of clients were agitating for Spain in the portfolio

Brought to Tasting Group as a fun wine as it’s technically not testable. As usual, this was served double-blind. In the glass, the wine is a bright ruby color with a translucent core. It’s noticeably darker than it was when I first had this wine back in 2018. Back then, it was shockingly pale. The nose is powerful, massive in some ways with intensely perfumed fruit. Almost smelled like the taste of a Bomb Pop when you get to the part where the stick becomes exposed. On the palate, Rainier cherries and ripe brambles, with star anise, and a hint of pepper. Medium…bordering medium + acid with some really sneaky tannins. Finish is long. This wine still comes across quite primary yet, not quite as interesting as it was when I first tried it shortly after release. I’ll hold my remaining bottle to see what some additional age brings. I think some secondary characteristics could really help round this out.
