Vineyard 29
Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Bright, dark ruby. Very dark, primary, restrained aromas of inky cassis, tar (from the Petit Verdot?), cocoa powder, crushed stone and scorched earth. At once fleshy and powerful, showing strong primary fruit for the vintage along with mineral and bitter chocolate notes. As dense and youthfully imploded as it is, this opulent Cabernet benefits from harmonious acidity and its firm, building tannins are not at all dry or hard. Finishes with outstanding thickness and length. This, too, will need time to reveal itself and is likely to be long-lived. Emerson described 2010 as "a big, structured, later-ripening year." (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2020)

Deep and dark ruby red. A bit elegant on the attack of the nose with purple flowers leading into a rich undertone of cassis, blackberries and a bit of woodiness. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) with a full body. Thick and lush palate coated in black cherries, black currants, dark powdered cocoa, gravel and lots of baking spices. Dry and long finish. Drink from 2025 till 2043.
Made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 20 months in 85% new French oak. Only 675 cases produced. (94+)

Every single time over the fence. They just don’t miss as of late especially. 2005 &7 rockstars! 12 & beyond I highly recommend. Another crowd pleaser. The 12 has got even better over the last 12/18 months. Another 15 years in it.

Feb 24th, 2019The Vineyard 29 Estate Cabernet was paired with “Slow-Cooked Duck Confit Cassoulet in Pork Au Jus with White Bean Savory Herbs and Croutons.”
The nose reals nice floral, blue and purple laced fruits. Dark currants, ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum with some baked strawberries. Dark rich soils, nicely layered baking spices; cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla. Dark spice, liqueured notes, saddle-wood, leather light fresh tobacco with dark fresh floral bouquet with violets.

07' Vineyard 29 Estate Cabernet. Decanted for 1+. Dark brick red/purple in color. My humble opinion it's one of the best 2007's. Close to a one minute finish! It has 20+ years in it!
Grace family previously owned these vineyards. I wonder if they regret selling them?

In my opinion, this was the wine of the night.
The nose is rich with barrel toast, black cherries and a hint of maple syrup. On the palette, the wine is multi dimensional and layered. The tannins are perfectly integrated and plush. The wine finishes with tobacco, spices and just the right amount of sweetness- outstanding!
