Ruby in color with light intensity.

Not much on the nose with red fruits, light wood and coffee notes.

Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity.

Very dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, light oak, spices, coffee, tobacco, earth and peppercorn.

Short finish with round tannins and tangy pomegranates.

This Nebbiolo from Piedmont is a little unbalanced and better with food. Very tangy, almost tart.

Needs an hour to open up and calm down a bit, as the tannins are pretty grippy. A decanter really helps.

I paired it with fillet steak and potatoes.

100% Nebbiolo grapes were grown on volcanic soils and aged for 36 months in oak barrels.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

87 Points.

$35.

Classic, slightly rustic feel. Lots of sour cherry, mushroom, herbs, damp concrete and rose petal. Very broad and lengthy finish. This will go the distance.

Popped and poured. Bright red cherries, herbs, crushed rock. Loads of structure and a tannic beast yet. Delicious and outstanding with the meal.

Bramble, rustic notes, traditional bottle. May need to try the Riserva.

On this Thursday night before the start of the weekend before the 4th of July I have opened the 2012 Travaglini Estate Bottled Gattinara.

On the the nose there are very expressive notes of red fruit, cherry, strawberry, plum, raspberry, Rose, licorice, mint and baking spice.

On the palate I am getting continuation of the red fruit, cherry, raspberry, plum, anise, herbaceous, spice, leather, rose, clay pot and oak.

This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + gripping tannins that lead to a long enjoyable finish. Have an enjoyable weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Needed a little coaxing, but some great lifted Nebbiolo character here. Marasca cherry, violet, rock, stick cinnamon

Always love me a gattinara. Im becoming increasingly loyal to this grape. So satisfying to me.
