I just love Hess wines. I swear this wine hasn’t budged since it was bottled. It’s intense, lively and extremely detailed. Notes of coffee and blackcurrants on the palate. A long finish with proud tannins. Stunning.

1997 vintage showing very very well. Smooth tannins good fruit and a medium plus finish. The fruits were dark currents and cassis.

May 30th, 2016Mountain fruit from 2000 foot elevations with restricted root development. This was a cooler year and it shows. An hour or so open revealed the chocolate and blackberry layers and allowed some acidic qualities to soften.
