Joshua Barossa Valley Grenache Blend
An excellent example of a Barossa GSM. A trace of bacon on nose and palate / very savoury. The taste descriptors for Grenache and Mataro certainly on show with notes of raspberry plus charcuterie, earth and tar. Mellow resolved tannins with chocolate nuances make this a delicious wine.

Solid 9.0. #barossa valley #barossavalley blend of #gsm #grenache, #shiraz and #mataro or #garnacha #syrah and #monastrell #mourvedre Deep deep color typically ripe (low latitude=intense sunlight) medium (+) aromas of red and black fruit, hints of ink, chocolate and toast. On the palate...as one would expect, ripe and juicy. Maintains a lovely balance between the ripeness and juicy sweetness of the fruit, the medium acidity and the high alcohol (hardly noticeable) and ripe tannins. Good stuff. Reminds me of my wines from Campo de Borja. #australia #southaustralia

Sep 12th, 2020Mid Ruby in colour. Highly aromatic nose reflecting its youth and freshness like freshly baked blueberry pie. Ultra savoury and juicy on the palate - a note of crushed ant amongst the raspberry notes. Medium minus tannins. Loving these unoaked fresh dry reds using old vine fruit. TheSkip if you liked Bests Bin 1 you will love this. Bottom line delicious. Most importantly my wife loved it. Tasted 168 weeks later on 14th February 2022 with Georgie home. We all loved it.

1 person found it helpfulOct 20th, 2015Summer berries, black and red fruit mix, Grenache dominates, medium bodied, nice spice. Fruit so clean, clear and juicy. Trying to understand what oak does to wine, so doing Joshua (unoaked) and avatar (oaked) back to back.
