Joshua Barossa Valley Grenache Blend 2018

MICHAEL COOPER
9.0

Solid 9.0. #barossa valley #barossavalley blend of #gsm #grenache, #shiraz and #mataro or #garnacha #syrah and #monastrell #mourvedre Deep deep color typically ripe (low latitude=intense sunlight) medium (+) aromas of red and black fruit, hints of ink, chocolate and toast. On the palate...as one would expect, ripe and juicy. Maintains a lovely balance between the ripeness and juicy sweetness of the fruit, the medium acidity and the high alcohol (hardly noticeable) and ripe tannins. Good stuff. Reminds me of my wines from Campo de Borja. #australia #southaustralia — 6 days ago

Albert Shiraz 2012

Great Shiraz, imagine dropping your bag of blackcurrants, blackberries and dark cherries into a pot of tar. You get them out, squeeze the result into a glass, wait half an hour and drink it. Serious amount of tar on the nose of this wine, when I opened it I thought they were resurfacing the road and I live on the 18th floor. Good stuff. — 8 months ago

The Riebke Barossa Shiraz 2016

Delicious Barossa Shiraz, classic flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum with some spicy sweetness, vanilla and oak on the smooth finish. Deep purple in colour, I enjoyed it slightly cooler and I really recommend it. In general I am finding that 2016 seems to be living up to its reputation of being a top one in Barossa. — 3 months ago

Barossa Valley Shiraz 2016

Great new effort from Kym Teusner, a Shiraz that is more subtle and elegant than than the usual big bold fruity Aussie offerings- could rival some of the well established Coonawarra labels
Watch this space and looking forward to the Utopos GSM
