Deep ruby; medium intensity aromas of blackberry, black plum, black cherry, baking spices, subtle cedar; dry, medium acid, medium ripe tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, ripe but not overly, good

Gravelly and leathery on the nose, with some dark berry essence. Rich, dry, and earthy on the palate. Some deep dark cherry extract in the background. Would be good with rich, red meat braise (not what I had it with). Scratchy tannins. Rustic.

Earthy, pretty tannins, good fruit to balance acidity

Only 20% merlot - but really smooths this blend out

Delicious! Cocoa and chocolate aromas. Dark fruit with cigar tobacco, and earthy notes. 70% montepulciano and 30% merlot.

Rich , ripe, smooth red and black fruits— mixed berries lots of plums and black cherries , a little sun baked and some stewed. Anise, black tea, pepper on the finish, and a little spice and warm earth. Plush w grip on the finish. The fruit is warm end round but has lift. Wine is in a good place.

Had with pizza — maybe a smidgen bigger than ideal, but generally quite a good match.

Leather, terroir, 70% Montepulciano 30% merlot. Dried berries, slight funk. A miracle for this $12 Umbrian gem!
