Tenuta Russo Bruno
Greco di Tufo
The 2015 Greco di Tufo is minerally intense, showing spicy pear and hints of peach, as notes of savory herbs develop in the glass. On the palate, I’m finding soft textures with impressive weight, giving way to ripe orchard fruit, with hints of hazelnut, subtle spice and minerals. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2020)

There is dried orange peel, lemon seed, and ginseng leading caper, rye bread, clove and a whittle of maple breezing. Grippy lemon and pomelo with an unctuous base, an odd white pepper, and lemon-poppy component. The color is dark, almost antique gold at this point, but the fruit is citrus-bright. #greco #grecoditufo whoa, now we’re turning golden delicious apples and the citrus is an afterthought #bianco #campania #tufo #tenutaRussoBruno #docg #italianwines #italianwhite

Sep 2nd, 2018Really fantastic Greco that ditches the relentlessly tropical profile of most Greco for a more authentically Campanian personality. Fresh, yes, but deeper and more savory.

Jul 8th, 2017Absolutely loved this. Different texture & taste from Italian whites I’m used to. Reminded me of a Northern Rhone blanc, but different. At 5 years old, I think aging definitely helped create that experience.

Nov 18th, 2022Solid, not much to add to my previous notes.

Jul 16th, 2021Pop and pour yesterday, in the fridge overnight. Yesterday this showed sweet fruit, and today it is much more how I expeted it would be. On the nose: meyer lemon, nettle, sweet lime, cucumber, muddled mint, wet stone. On the palate: good acidity and excellent density: loads of wet stome and sweet lemon...oily crushed nuts muddled with herbs (pesto!). Nice long finish.

Mar 17th, 2021Really quite excellent. Amber in the glass, but full of verve. Really deep lemon citrus flavors but with a bit of heavier white fruit as well. Delicious with a long and acidic finish.
