Calderara Sottana Etna Rosso

Vintage 2020 | Great wine with a beautiful smell of roses (I thought Nebbiolo tasted blind), toffee, playful taste with extreme nice balance. Made from nerello mascalese and nerello cappucio. A gem for the cellar.

Still young, but very approachable and fruity, Burgundy style, also earthy notes, went well with Pasta putanesca (spicy/garlic/anchoas), pleasure to drink now and will develop nicely over the years

Great nerello which is peaking (at least that’s what I think…🤔)

Aromas of cherry and blueberry. Cedar spice notes and a smooth long finish. Great with of Mushroom Ravioli with pine nuts and Garlic infused olive oil.

Subtle, dry, great light red at bourbon steak

Intense Etna Rosso delivering an elegant yet powerful smooth red wine. Cherry and earth. No harsh tannins: perfectly smooth in the finish.

Nice lite red. Like a Pinot noir but little more body and fruit

Terrific!!! Paired with slow cooked chicken on the BBQ. This wine keeps evolving upwards giving me the impression a lot is still to come. Two bottles left, now I need to resist and not touch it for a while to see what it will give on the longer term
