Early in his career, Ernst Storm worked alongside his brother Hannes, who is also a winemaker, eventually leaving South Africa to pursue his career in California, and forming Storm Wines. Aromas of tart fruits, herbs and spices. On the palate cranberry and raspberry with herb mineral notes. Firm gripping tannins, lingering finish ending with earthy characteristics.

An amazing vintage of this Pinot, ripe raspberry and blackberry fruit with incredible, savory umami flavors throughout. A near perfect expression of what single vineyard Santa Rita. Hills has to offer.

Bottle was very skunky on the nose. Couldn't drink it. Compared to reviews I have seen, bottle must be off.

This is great right now. Well balanced. Tart fruits of cherry and cranberry leading to some darker fruits and flowers with an end of baking spice. If there’s good acidity that makes you come back for more. Awesome with food. This could go with so many dishes. It’s so clean and yet has the goods to shine.

In Los Olivos at the tasting room. Strawberry. In the glass too spiced up. Rhubarb. Quite smokey.

This is great right now. I feel Ernst’s red wines hit a nice spot in 5-7 years. Good fruit with raspberries, earth, baking spices, red apple, some earth. Lovely

Raspberry, clove dominant baking spice, some forest greenery, touch of dried cranberry, cherry, but really well balanced. Just lovely mouthfeel.
