Silver Oak
Bonny's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
From 3L bottle. Wonderfully elegant and supple. Fruit is in great shape with ripe plum particularly coming through. Color and acidity are remarkably stable. It’s perfectly resolved, but showing no signs of tiring soon out of this large format.

Aug 16th, 2021Aged to perfection. Brimming with cedar and bacon fat aromas, favors of forest floor and smoked meats, dried red apple skin and dashi. Beautiful acidity and a wisp of powdery tannins. Bonny FTW. Drank the rest of this press sample with our steak dinner. Check out my writeup on Bonny’s Vineyard on my web site Vinography.Com. Search for it.

Oct 6th, 2020From mag. Ripe plush fruit. Plums and damson. A light whiff of tobacco, spearmint. This is in great shape and has a sweet middle. A little simple from midpalate through to the finish.

Dec 13th, 2019Out of Jeroboam. Pleasurable green charred bell pepper. Starting to feel age- but tasting great. Medium bodied red fruit. Elegant toast.

Dec 13th, 2019Amazing MV blend. 60s and 70s. Nose was quite musty but wine showed little bricking and hardly any oxidation on the palette. Wouldn’t guess older than late 90s

Dec 13th, 2018Wow! Perfect cork. BBQ, smoked jalapeño. Faint red currant comes out with food. One of the best Bonny’s!

Dec 13th, 2018Light red fruit, smooth yet dusty tannin, only a hint of the classic Oakville black olive.

2 people found it helpfulOct 2nd, 2015First vintage of the now defunct "Bonny's Vineyard" bottling, produced from the Meyers' home vines. Light and delicate with no perceptible tannin remaining. Visually could be mistaken for a Nebbiolo. Surprisingly racy nose of berry compote, prune, baking spice, rose and woodsy stem. Cherry and umebochi plum on the palette eventually giving way to secondary elements of leather and herbs. 12.6% alcohol(!) They don't make Cabs like this anymore. Delightful.
