Nice sweet ripe fruits (appropriate for the vintage) still going strong. Good balance, though the tannins have really dropped off. Good timing at 15 yrs. - could go a bit longer but not too much before the structure will start to suffer.

A member of our Tasting Group generously provided this bottle from his cellar. It had been opened earlier in the day, decanted for sediment and reintroduced to the bottle. In typical Tasting Group fashion, presented double-blind. Appearance: a deep ruby color with no signs of sediment or any obvious signs of age. Medium+ intensity. Medium viscosity. On the nose, notes of ripe red and dark fruits, some green pepper, some leather, tobacco and baking spices. On the palate, a mix of delicious dark fruits including currants, cherries, and dates with dark chocolate, earth, leather, and tobacco. Extremely elegant. The tannins were quite firm (medium+) and acid was also medium+. The finish was remarkably suave and lasted forever. This came across as a special wine. I vacillated between Margaux and Napa, probably with 15+ years on it but I was leaning towards the New World because of the fruit being so beautifully ripe. Damn, was I impressed when this was revealed to be ’95 Seavey. This has another 20 years of life in it…possible more. Bravo!

Purple and blue fruits, cedar, hints of baking spices. Fine grained sweet tannins. Easy to drink now but plenty of time remaining.

Surprised by the amount of blue fruit this delivers for a cab. We tasted blueberry right off the bat, followed by cassis, cloves, cedar and wet gravel. Tannins are still quite present as well as a nice acidity. Could lay this down for many more years. This is such a fantastic producer that seems to fly somewhat under the radar. Family-run and great people. I also LOVE their Merlot.

This wine still has so much, one of the best 97 Napa I've tried in recent years.

Signature Napa cab. I'm having a hard time finding a single reason to drink this wine. Perhaps when the massive, overbearing fruit characteristics die down in a donkey's age... Right now this is clunky, bumpy, headache juice.

22 years and going strong! It was a lovely, older Napa Cabernet and it was beautiful! Gentle decant but lots of small pours and enjoyed the evolution. Love Seavey
