Last night we opened the Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs Brut Vintage 2017. Méthode Traditionelle, 100% Chardonnay from Napa Valley Calastoga, CA.
On the nose there is lemon, lemon curd, brioche, buttered popcorn and nice minerals.
On the palate there is lemon, lemon custard, almonds, apricote, cream and minerality.
The wine is medium bodied with a crisp, clean, complex mouthfeel, medium+ to high acidity and a long fresh vibrant citrus mineral finish. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, please continue staying safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Terrific vintage BdB from Schramsberg. Lemon curd and orange marmalade notes remind me of the last few bottles of PIper Cuvée Rare 2002. Definite RS with the doseage. Oak notes coming thru as well. Wouldn’t pair with seafood apps. It OS the app. Showstopper for $31. Mind blown.

Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965. Today, their son Hugh, continues their mission. Coming off their highly successful 12’ & ‘13 vintages, the 2014 is also 100% Chardonnay straw with aromas of floral stone fruits and citrus notes. A terrific crisp sparkler with crisp apple, peach and lemon flavors, fine mousse with tiny bubbles. Tangy acidity on a lingering finish ending with a yeasty creamy character. Nice!

Off the Bicyclette wine list. Fruit forward nose. Refined in the mouth and needed air to grow it’s impact in the mouth. Very nice.
