So I bought this blindly at a wine store in south Florida. When I realized how much I spent on it and the producer was on a recommendation list by someone in Napa, I was very excited about trying it, so I saved it for a special occasion. I opened it tonight and was actually disappointed. The alcohol level is very high (15.2%) which took away from the fruit blend (and yes I did decant). Will probably not purchase this again 🙁

A blend of 45% Grenache, 33% Syrah, 21% Mourvedre, 1% Viognier, aged 17 months in 27% new oak, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, sweet spice and herb floral notes. On the palate flavors of red plum and blackberry with leather, cacao and black pepper. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit and spice notes.

It’s gorgeous from stem to stern. We tasted it straight out of the bottle in addition to a good-time of decanting and while different experiences between the two- this is a luscious, GORGEOUS blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre- and a splash of Viognier. It’s the perfect bottle to take to pair with lamb, steak- SHRIMPIES, whatevs. We were blown away. It is NOT cheap- but with regard to value- I’ve yet to meet its equal.

Big and robust. Dark fruits with herbaceous notes. Oak and vanilla round a lengthy finish.

Love the texture of this, aroma is sweet fruit and baking spices. Creamy Black cherry, spice, mint? Like this a lot.

We opened this yesterday, and it has improved with exposure to air. It’s become more plush, open knit and inviting, while not being over/bearing. Lovely spice-box and cedar nose leads into rich cherries on the mid-palate. Medium weight, with medium sweetness, which finishes with roundness and moderate acidity. Very enjoyable, and love the label!

Too oaky. Weird. I did drink most of the bottle the next day but not my favorite
