My last Little Wine #8 - see previous notes, from only 17 weeks ago - these will be brief. A blend of 5 vintages of 2015 to 2019 inclusive. Very much the product of ancient vines which it is. Black fruits with plums and dark chocolate with those trademark silky tannins and low acid. One could not help but love this. I see Suckling gave this 97 points. I just took delivery of this year’s allocation which is mainly from the fabulous 2021 vintage in South Australia.

Colour is very dark and on the rim almost a catholic cerise at the edge of the glass. A lovely old vine iteration from Fraser. Medium bodied. Subtly different from other old vine Barossa Cuvées with perfect balance and definitely not a blockbuster. Herbal notes with dried plum and spice/pepper. So easy to drink. A blend of 5 vintages from 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 giving a supple smooth palate and length forever. Fraser has excelled himself here even by his high standards. Probably this is the best “Little Wine” I can recall tasting. I just ordered my annual allocation yesterday of 12 bottles covering 3 Cuvées including Little Wine #12.

Amazingly plush fruited, blackcurrent, raspberry, violet, widely spread on the palette, licorice, a bit of sarsaparilla, spice, ripe pillowy tannin with great length. Great freshness given the spread of vintages in this.

Inky purple all the way to the rim - violets, tapenade, black cherry and plum, mineral, fine tannin and long finish 💥😍😋

Hard to describe how satisfying a wine this is....super smooth and silky, tons of dark fruit and big structure..... great balance...If there was a doppelgänger for SQN this is it

Exuberant nose and layers upon layers of dark fruit. Good structure and acidity. An amazing “2nd” wine...

The best years of this wine are ahead of it. Loads of sweet baking spice, black and purple fruits. Thick. Black. Even getting a bit of savory on the finish which is was not what I got last year. Definitely more to the sweeter, fruit rich side but a step and a half up from the last year. This wine IMO can hold as long as the flagship. And it now makes me really REALLY want to open up one of the HD's!!
