Still feel strongly that Chianti is an under appreciated Tuscan wine!

Solid little wine from @WineAwesomeness! Dusty, muted red fruit, cherry pit, nice bite, high acid.

Made from 85 percent Sangiovese, 8 percent Canaiolo, and 7 percent Mammolo grown organically grown in the hills of Siena. The winery is low-tech by intention, committed to environmental sustainability, and uses indigenous yeasts and no sulfites in production. The result here is a a juicy, fruit-driven wine plumped by red berries and pink flowers and leavened by silky acidity. Although the tannins are nearly indiscernible, there’s a welcome snap of cracked pepper at the finish, plus a whiff of bitter herbs. And you can’t beat the price. 13% abv | $12

Picked this up at @VintageBerkeley Elmwood a while back. Brilliant - lithe and smoky and ferrous minerality from all that red clay.

Med body with red berries and red cherry notes, med plus acidity, soft tannin, dusty, not too much oak note, barely has oak note but aged in American oak. A great everyday chianti for it bucks. Biodynamic farming, native yeast, 85 % Sangiovese.
