Napa Valley Merlot

Nice, simple Merlot.

Plush and rich Merlot. Quite powerful and high in tannins. Aromas and flavors of dark plums and black fruits. Hints of leather, oak, baking spices, black licorice and grilled herbs. Long and velvety finish.

Nice smooth earthy/graphite nose. Tastes like it smells - smooth, earthy, a little graphite, a slight purple fruit taste that I always love. No herbs or vegetables - just dry dark fruit, earth, minerals. Maybe a tiny bit of spice. Tannic to just the right degree. Medium weight. Worth what I paid for it @$22. Would buy again.

Jammy in the nose, not so much on the palette.
Certainly alcohol forward at a ballsy 14.5%, With tannins in front too, followed by a dry finish.

Light in tannins, lots of red fruit flavors, mildly sweet finish

Very decent Napa Merlot. Gives Decoy a good run for the price in LCBO. Good fruit, some spice, could use some aging. Extra body comes from them adding some cab sauv and syrah. Nice touch.

Damn fine merlot.

Weren’t big fans.

2015- ok wine. Drinkable- smooth, cherry with a hint of spice at the end
